Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data is collected when you use this site, why it is collected, and what happens to it. Nothing complicated is happening here.

Who I am

Jasmin Aziz is a senior communications consultant trading as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. This site is jasminaziz.co.uk. I am the data controller for any personal data processed through this site.

What data is collected and why

Name, email address, and message content submitted through the contact form. I use this only to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is legitimate interests: you have contacted me professionally and I am responding to that.

Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (google.com/analytics). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data including IP address, device and browser information, and pages visited. Data is used to understand how the site is used in aggregate. The legal basis is legitimate interests: understanding site usage to improve it. Google may process this data on servers outside the UK.

Email correspondence sent directly to hello@jasminaziz.co.uk is retained as part of normal business records.

Who data is shared with

Your data is not sold. It is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Analytics data is processed by Google LLC, which is bound by its own privacy policy. Google acts as a data processor on my behalf.

How long data is kept

Contact form enquiries are retained for 12 months. If an enquiry becomes a client engagement, correspondence and project records are kept for six years from the end of that engagement, in line with HMRC guidance for sole traders.

Google Analytics retains event data for 14 months by default. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@jasminaziz.co.uk. I will respond within one calendar month.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If my approach to data handling changes materially, this page will be updated. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.

Cookie Policy

This is a short policy, because this site does very little with cookies.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 for website statistics. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device (including _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and track sessions. It collects data including pages visited, session duration, and approximate location derived from IP address. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Third-party links

This site links to external websites. Those sites have their own cookie policies and are outside my control.

Controlling cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Guidance is available at allaboutcookies.org.
